"The “people with penises” phrasing was an attempt to make it clear who is responsible for almost all sexual violence while at the same time staying on the right side of the Soviet-style speech dictats of the country’s hypersensitive and increasingly deranged gender elites."
If further proof were needed that, if freedom of speech does not apply to every opinion (especially including opinions and speakers that you don't like), then you don't have freedom of speech.
Whenever you seek to give the government new power, ask yourself whether you would be comfortable giving that power to your political enemies. Because, sooner or later, your enemies will get that power.
To my mind, the real "problem" is that Dora drew attention to the third rail at the core of all of this: women aren't allowed to talk about the danger we face from men, generally. The whole "trans" thing is just the newest way to prevent us from talking about it by saying it's "transphobic" and "bigoted." The "Not all men!" cries and the anger at "We choose the bear" is more of the same. I think it *is* the fact that she said "people with penises" that was the touching of the third rail, if you will.
It seems like all these reports on conversion therapy need a story about electroshock therapy. Here is an account from a Norwegian report published just before the law was passed in Norway (translated from Norwegian) that, in my opinion, raises questions about its credibility:
“A family member suspected that I was queer. He contacted someone whom he told me was just an ordinary counsellor, and the meetings were supposed to take place at the lower secondary school I attended at the time. But when I arrived for the first session, I discovered that it was conversion therapy. This involved electroshock therapy, where they showed pictures of people with different gender identities and different sexual orientations, and if I responded to any of them, I was shocked. I was not shocked if I reacted positively to what was considered normal. What was seen as normal was being heterosexual and being cisgender.”
“I had several electrodes attached to me, and they brought out a slideshow showing different images. If I responded positively to a person who expressed themselves in a very masculine way but was a feminine person with a masculine presentation, I would receive a shock. This continued until I became physically sick from looking at the images. I was praised for reacting positively to pictures of feminine women who were either standing in the kitchen, taking care of children, or in a relationship with a man. I was told many positive things — that I was doing a good job, that this was progress, and all of that. This went on for about four months, I think, if I remember correctly. It was two hours a week.”
uh-huh. Wonder why this person has not filed a police report about their ridiculous bullshit made up story, since it involves assault and would completely be prosecutable if it were, what is the word I am looking for, real.
Thanks so much, Roisin, for speaking out on all of this, and in that nice funny writing, too.
’Marie Cau is a heterosexual sissy fetishist who started wearing women’s clothes because it sexually excites him.‘
Autogynephilia is truly the love that dare not speak its name because it gives the lie to so many of the transactivists' dearest claims ('born in the wrong body', 'felt this way since I was a child' etc.). Some time ago, I searched through the text of Judith Butler's 'Gender Trouble' and was unsurprised to see that AGP was conspicuous by its absence. The bad faith of the gender theorists thus stands out, for if they were in earnest, they should want to refute the argument that is most fatal to their case. But once you see AGP, you can't unsee it, so better for them to completely ignore it than to deny it. After cutting off funding to the gender industrial complex, the best ways to end trans as a thing would probably be to have the media constantly blitz out the facts of the Secret Lives of Autogynephiles.
To the wrong point of electroshock conversion therapy in Germany: this rumour runs around for some time now, and as far as I found out during my time at university, people believe that impulse therapy is electroshock therapy. But it isn't.
It's a speciality offered in one, big and famous clinic in Germany, where you get impulse baths to support relaxation in stress and burnout therapy. During that treatment, you relax in a warm bath in a gigantic bathtub, while low tense impulses run though the water and your body as counter impuses to relax your tense muscles. It is extremely relaxing and geels absolutely amazing. The low impulses cause the water to release oxygen, and there are tiny bubbles building on your body and bubbling through the water. It's pure paradise. Very comfortable.
I had sleep issues for years and was totally exhausted, but after that therapy I slept for twelve hours.
The therapist had to call a nurse to help me out of the tub after the first session, because my muscles had lost all tension, and I wasn't used anymore to balancing myself without the constant tension.
Since people with body dysmorphia are highly stressed, that form of therapy is regularly used in that clinic to help them relax. And hysterical students and other idiots twist it into electroshock therapy, simply because they don't know what it is.
