The High Tatra mountains (on the Polish border) are beautiful, as are many other natural areas such as the Slovak Paradise (Slovenský Ráj), and many of the hiking trails conveniently end at pubs offering excellent beer and delicious food at reasonable prices. Spiš Castle is a spectacular ruin and one of several UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the country. And there are many well-preserved villages with charming town squares. Also lots of caves, some karst, some ice. Really a delightful country all around. Glad to see it’s trying to maintain its sanity on this particular topic despite the EU influence!

It looks like Slovakia is a place I want to visit.
